Teddy Davey began singing solos at age 4, when his mother Martha and father Charles packed up their 10 children in the ol’ 60s VW van, to perform at Senior Centers in Alton IL, during the holiday season. A few years later he told his parents, “This is what I want to do the rest of my life.” Throughout his adolescence he continued his education in the performing arts, eventually earning a B.F.A. in classical performance from the University of Texas – Austin. After graduation, he moved to Dallas and worked as a professional theater performer, writer, and director for a dozen years.
He moved to Las Vegas to focus on work as a vocalist. He had performed in all the major Hotel Casinos in Vegas over the years. He was an original member of Bill Fayne’s “Las Vegas Tenors” when they earned “Entertainers of the Year” honors in 2007. Teddy began to work as a guest entertainer on various cruise lines (Princess, Holland America and Royal Caribbean). He traveled the globe for numerous years entertaining audiences in the Caribbean, Mexico, Iceland, Germany, Italy, U.K., Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Turkey and Kenya.
In the summer of 2013, he bought The Balcony Club in Dallas and owned it till his passing on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017. During Teddy’s ownership it had arguably become recognized as the “Best Jazz Bar” by local and national press, including USA Today, The Dallas Morning News, D Magazine and The Dallas Observer.
